The
Computing Workshop aims to help members to improve their computing skills
and understanding and to share their existing skills and experience
with others. Members are likely to be people that use a personal
computer on most days and who have a working knowledge of the internet,
email and word processing – we are unable to cover Apple hardware and software or operating systems other than Microsoft Windows except for the interfacing of smartphones and tablets to a PC if the available knowledge allows.
Subject to leader availability, meetings are held monthly on Zoom and generally consider questions raised by members or give help to resolve their problems - if they wish, members can share their PC screen with the group meeting via Zoom to demonstrate an issue or to receive guidance.
Meetings are held on Zoom on the second Thursday of each month with occasional in person social gatherings.
The Workshop is not a drop in centre to solve
occasional problems and we require a regular commitment for which there is a small charge to contribute to the cost of a Zoom subscription. However, prospective joiners are welcome as guests to provide
an opportunity to see what’s on offer before making a commitment.
If you are interested in joining the group, please contact me by email.
