This Group meets on the first Thursday of the month. We normally aim to meet by 9:30am either at Bookham or Leatherhead Station and return by 6pm. Since the reduction to one train an hour from Bookham we primarily meet at Leatherhead station. We make good use of our “Free” bus passes to help us get around in London.

We hold a planning meeting at the beginning of the year where members propose ideas for walks over the following 12 months. Group Members take it in turn to organise the walks with suitable stops for morning coffee and lunch. They research the walk route and the transport needed and identify points of interest.

In the winter months the walk normally includes an inside visit whilst the summer months we can spend longer outside(depending on our delightful English weather).

Recent walks have included the Hornimans School in Brockley, an open bus top trip to see the Christmas lights, the River Wandle, the V & A East Storehouse and the affluent streets of Chelsea.

Outings planned for later this year are Canary Wharf, Thames Barrier, Sloane Square, Speakers State Apartment & Thames Lifeboat station.
