This group is for members who are interested in trips to local theatres which could include Chichester, Guildford, Richmond, Wimbledon and Woking. Travel is by coach from Bookham Village for matinee performances. London theatres tend to be avoided because of the high cost and excessive travelling time. 

In 2025 there were two theatre visits. The first on Thursday 12th June was Chicago and then the amazing Riverdance on Sunday 21st September both at the New Wimbledon Theatre 

2026 started for the Theatre Group on 1st April with the 'full-on' performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare  (abridged) at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford by the Reduced Shakespeare Company. It was nothing like the Shakespeare you may know but the 3 actors did 'mention' all 37 plays during their hair-brain performance. Very funny and enjoyable.  

The group's next outing is to the Chichester Festival Theatre to see the musical My Fair Lady on Thursday 3rd September at a cost of £68.00 each including coach. As with all previous outings, the Coach will pick-up from and return to the The Anchor Pub on the Lower Road and The Lower Shott.

Tickets go on sale (card only) for this fabulous performance at the u3a meeting in the OBH on Tuesday 5th May -  on a first come first served basis. So don't delay and buy a ticket as soon as you can to avoid disappointment - its likely to be VERY popular.
